This recipe combines art with food in a delicious and healthy way! When doing this project with students at my school, I received so many creative responses. It was a total hit!

Please use foods that are safe for you and your family! If there is an ingredient in one of our recipes that is NOT safe for you or your family, please use an alternative.
Always have an adult work kitchen appliances.
Adults need to be present and help when using sharp kitchen tools.
Keep both your hands and your surfaces CLEAN.
You are a chef in your own kitchen and your kitchen creations will be unique! Happy accidents can still make tasty treats!

You will need...
Something to cut your fruits & veggies (I used a butter knife because my ingredients were all fairly soft).
A tortilla or different kind of base for your face
Fruits & veggies
What I used:
A tortilla
Frozen blueberries
A banana
Strawberries
Peanut butter
A butter knife
Additional ingredient ideas:
Spices (I wish I had used cinnamon for my freckles!)
Kiwi if you have green eyes
Chocolate chips for beauty marks
Nutella, almond butter, or cookie butter for different colors of hair
Hummus if you have blonde hair
Red peppers for lips if you are making a veggie Produce Self Portrait
Instructions:
This recipe is all about mixing art with food! You could have a mirror ready for your kiddos to make their self-portrait based on their facial features. The most important step: get creative and have fun!
